Three months down and 4 or 5 more to go. Again, a lot has happened this past month so let’s see if I can remember most of it. I think that it is beginning to sink in with our parents that this is not going to be like adopting in the states or having the child naturally. There are the common why, where and who questions but the answers are not so simple. Since the completion of the adoption paperwork my excitement level has been dropping but now, like I said, our parents are starting to understand more about this adoption and it has started to recharge my enthusiasm for doing this. Don’t misunderstand me, Becky and I are ready for Morgan to get here, NOW!! We got invited to a birthday party for twin 3-year-old Chinese girls Micaela and Brianna. WOW! Chris and Michele went all out with a huge tent, an inflatable slide and a clown. The girls really didn’t know us so we just enjoyed watching them with their family. Bill, Cindy and Kim and EmmaLi were there so we spent our time at the party mostly with them, or I should say Becky did. I took Emmie with me and I entertained her all afternoon. I hope she had as good a time with me as I did with her. As the party broke up, we got to talk to Michele, Chris and Chris’s Mom. We of course learned more than I could possibly recall here in this journal. Chris’s Mom had great advice for when we get back to the US with Morgan so we passed that info on to my Mom since she offered to watch Morgan for a while. Thank you Mom!!! We got to see the twin’s bedroom. Very cute and Wow what a playroom. We also got to spend some more time with Kim and EmmaLi later that evening. It’s been almost 2 weeks since we last saw them, I think I’m going through withdrawal, but we don’t want to over do it. Took Becky to see Spiderman 2 and surprised her with a car seat for her birthday, early. I even bought some girly clothes while I shopped for car seats. We have been looking for some patriotic red, white and blue clothes for Morgan for when we arrive back in the states. I think we purchased all the patriotic baby clothes from every store in the mall, so we’re set for Morgan’s arrival. On the 4th, our neighborhood and I set off enough fireworks to rival the US Military. Our new favorite fireworks are called artillery shells. Artillery shells are just like regular fireworks like you would see in an evening fireworks show. Gotta love the state of South Carolina. No evil sprits should be in South Carolina for a while after the 4th after all these fireworks. Morgan’s Room is probably 90% finished just small finishing touches need to be done for the room to be complete then off to the Bathroom and FROG (playroom). A big “Thanks!” to Becky’s Mom, my Mom and my Dad for helping with some of the finishing touches in Morgan’s room. I think I know what we are going to do in these other rooms but I will need Becky’s approval first, although we have more stuff to go through. Thank GOD that HGTV has these organization TV programs on now. I know I call HGTV the EVIL Channel because most of the shows are CRAP. They subliminally try to convince women that it only takes 2 days to renovate a room when they don’t show the hours of planning, shopping and team of people to complete the project. I could really rant about HGTV but I won’t, let’s just call it the EVIL Channel for now. Anyway the organization shows inspire Becky to purge 9+ years of crap that we have collected. We have discovered Ebay. It’s a great way to get rid of stuff you don’t care about anymore. We went to another FCC meeting and got to see some new friends and new families, we’re so jealous. After the meeting we went to dinner with Christine, Gordon and their new daughter Jackie and also with Kathy, Tom and their daughter Lizbeth. It was great talking to and watching them as their daughters manipulated their every move, and to see what we are in for. The next day was Becky’s birthday she turned 30 after holding at 29 for so long. She had to turn 30 since the youngest you can be to adopt from China is 30 years old. I don’t think she had a problem adding another year. We spent the day registering for Baby gifts then we got together with Kim and EmmaLi for dinner. Have I mentioned how much fun EmmaLi is? Kim was told for single parents that China likes seeing a few pictures of the girls with men in them interacting with them. So Kim asked me if she could use a picture of EmmaLi and me for her 6-month update for China. I hope Kim knows how honored I was. Oh, Becky had 2 Cyber Showers, they were interesting, Becky had a good time and that’s all that counts.
