IMG_6021We’ve been busy this year. For those of you who’ve heard the Grandparents or Becky and I gush about Morgan, you know just how happy and loved this little girl is as well as how happy we all are. It’s been so great having Morgan in our life that we decided to adopt again. Our dossier arrived in China on October 9, 2006. We were very fortunate to have gotten Morgan in less than a year because the current wait time is 15 to 16 months. I expect this adoption to take close to 2 years so it will be 2008 before we are able to bring our new daughter Isabelle home.

Let’s see Morgan has been to Tennessee to visit one of her Fu sisters from our adoption group. We went to the Circus, sat on the front row, got pulled out on the floor to do dance steps and made fools of ourselves; it was a lot of fun. Another highlight was Morgan getting her ears pierced. She decided that if Mom’s ears were pierced hers should be! She did great! In May, the Princess phase began. In June we discovered she loves riding horses. In July we started the adoption paperwork. We had to go to Charleston for fingerprinting and made a day of it by taking a carriage tour and going to the Aquarium. August was a mad scramble with all the adoption paperwork. September I (Pete) changed jobs and we finally had everything ready to submit to China. Morgan started attending USC (University of SC). Really, it’s USC’s Child Development Center. Since it’s affiliated with the University and our checks are made out to USC, we feel we deserve the perks. Where are our football tickets??? In October, Morgan learned to ride a bike with training wheels. She also rode just about every horse in the Columbia area that month. For Halloween, yes she was Princess Belle! In November we had her Princess Birthday Party with thirteen 3 to 5-year olds running around having fun. We had a great time! Next was the Wiggle’s concert. Then we traded our car for a Honda Odyssey and we love it.  I tease Becky about being a Soccer Mom now! Morgan has decided that she only wants to ride in the “New” (the van) and not in the “Old” (my Explorer). The van made our trip in early December to Disney quite comfortable. Morgan had a great time down there! She especially loved the rides where she had some control like on Dumbo and the racecars. Yes, we did a “Princess” lunch and Morgan was in heaven seeing Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Jasmine and Aerial. When we got home, Morgan had her 3-year check-up. Our little girl isn’t so little anymore. She’s 38” tall and 33.5 lbs putting her well off the Southern China Girls charts. We finally broke down and set up a PC for Morgan since they use one at school. She’s really loves it.  We’re now trying to get last minute things done before Christmas as well as getting our cards in the mail. Our Disney trip took center stage so we did not get these out as early as planned.

We hope all of you are doing well this year, that you have a wonderful holiday and that your year has been as blessed as ours!

Love from our family to your’s!
