Domestication (Part 3)

The 30 day were up and I was mad.  I found a DHEC document on line GUIDELINES For Obtaining A Certificate of Foreign Birth: Domestication of Foreign Adoptions that probably would have helped but we didn’t find it until after we submitted the paperwork.  I did see a phone number for DHEC Vital Records on the document and called.  The lady on the other end was less than friendly and contradicted everything I was told when I droped off the documents.  She was hung up on me paying $27 I told her that I had paid $12 already and I would gladly pay $200 to get this ordeal over with.  The woman asked for my daughters name I said ”Morgan Creighton” then she asked for her given name “I said Fu Chuan Ke” and she still couldn’t find the paperwork then she asked for my street address and she found Morgan and I said “Yes that’s my daughter” then she acused me of not giving her that name.  I told her Morgan Creighton is my daughter and she wanted to argue. I said that it didn’t matter Morgan was the right name and she launched into all this information was confidential and and it DOES matter bla bla bla.  Finally she asked me who took the paperwork and given the description I was directed to Tracy the girl I gave the paperwork to.  Tracy tells me that today was the 30th day and she was mailing out the letter to me today or I could pick it up.  I told her I’ll be there to pick it up.  When I got there it was just more stuff to do but it looks like we are almost at the end of the road.

If some one from SC DHEC reads this I welcome your comments because so far my experience with SC DHEC Vital Records has been a painful one.
