Thursday we went to Elmo Makes Music at the Colonial Center. Can you say “Boring”. Ya it started at 7:00pm. Who is this Jenny chick and who were all the new monsters. I grew up on Sesame Street. I know Cookie Monster, Grover, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, & Oscar but who are all these other characters? Morgan has never seen Sesame Street so we knew that this was going to be a stretch. We went with Betsy and Chesley and they knew all the characters and watched the tv show and they didn’t enjoy the show. I’m not saying that it wasn’t well performed, it was just boring. Live and learn. I bet it would have been better if Morgan had seen the tv show and was between 1 & 2. Oooo, at intermission they sold mylar balloons of Elmo’s head for $8. Then after they were all sold there was an announcement requesting everyone with a balloon to store it under your seat until after the show. I loved that. We escaped the show with only purchasing 3 bottled waters. Yea!!!
Ok, Saturday we went Roller Skating, there I said it. Actually Morgan and I went Roller Skating and Becky watched, took photos and laughed at me during the Adoptive Families Group (AFG) event. It has probably been 25 years or better since I’d been roller skating, I feel old just saying that. I told Becky to let me go around once to get my legs back and I was all over the place. I don’t mean that I was Zooming all over, No I looked like I was drunk. Then I fell down and the Rink Guard came over and helped me up. I started to questions the skates, no they didn’t talk back. I told the guy that I though the bearings were bad on my skates and he just looked at me like ya right. I then started to think about people that really suck at something always blame the equipment when they are embarrassed, was I doing that? As it turns out the bearings were bad and I got another pair of skates and did much better. Becky walked Morgan around once and gave me another chance to tryout the new skates. Then I was holding the hand of a 40lb, 1st time, 3.5 year old on roller skates who was having the time of her life.
While at the AFG event we saw some friends VJ and Mya & Jada. They just from China with Mya. Mya was so small and seemed well adjusted to American life. Congratulation VJ, Dave, Jada, Mya. Were sooo envious. Mya is an adorable little girl.
Sunday was a Party/Reunion at Riverbanks Zoo with Advanced Fertility. We had reservations about going since we weren’t one of their success stories but I’m glad we did. We got to see Dr Whitman and Florence Hightower two people that gave us the chance we needed before we made the BEST decision of our life. While at the party we saw a family that just got back from China. Really we met once before and I worked with someone that they knew that turned them on to our website. If that family is reading this, sorry were slow and it took us a while to recognize you, but we are very happy that our web site helped you make it through the long wait. Did I mention that they got a beautiful little girl from China. I hope that we survive the wait.
Sunday was also Grandparents day and that evening we met Ma & Da at Dairy Queen for ice cream. Ahhh good times.
